Teacher Appreciation Gift under $5

So it's that time of year again...Teacher Appreciation!!

And boy, do I ever!

Thank you for giving me time to myself to run errands, make doctor's appointments, work on cleaning schedules (yeah...right!) and surf Pinterest!  Oh, and for teaching and loving and playing with my child!

Kara has only been in pre-school for about a month so I don't know her teachers very well, plus we only have about 2 months left to go.  So, I thought up this little gift while walking into Target trying to not think about $200 of other stuff I could buy since I was there.

I call it
"Thanks for helping me put my Best Foot Forward"

Flip-Flops - $2.50
Totally guessed on their sizes based on their height and then went up a size!
Ribbon from Dollar Spot - $1.00
I bought 2 spools, 6 colors to a spool, used 3 colors from each for each set.
Nail Polish - $.94 - $$$$
That's where mine veers off the $5 price tag, I picked up the first colors I saw that would match and they were $3-4 each.  But, I've found tons of colors at Target for under $1 when I did this project from Not So Idle Hands. So I know they can be found for cheap!  Or you can make it the "splurge" item for a really nice teacher gift.  Or even add a gift certificate for a mani/pedi!

Cut each ribbon in half, then fold those pieces and cut in half again, tie onto the flip flops and then tie on the nail polish.  Easy Peasy!  Picture-wise it would've been nicer to have a different color nail polish against the flip-flops, but I know their toesies will look so cute in the same color!

So, say "Thank You" to your teachers and help them get ready for Spring Break or Summer Vacation!

Cheers!
